National Science and Technology Development Agency with Department of
Agriculture, Kasetsrat University, Khon Kaen University and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna signed the MOU about
germplusm conservation to push forward Thailand as the center of international
seed hub aiming to which the export
amount at 1 quintillion baht within 5 years. The first focusing 4 kind of plant which are rice, corn, vegetable/ leguminous
plant and forage crop seed/ plant soil. These plan for
stabilizing and sustainable for Thai seed industry, generate strengthening the
private sector , stability in food and income for farmers by using good quality
seeds.
For national plant genetic infection
is one of five strategic plan in order to move Thailand as the center of
international seed hub. NSTDA. Support the operation with DOA, KU, KKU and
RMURL in succession. With STI and infrastructure management plant germplasm
including chilies, tomatoes, corn and other cucurbits to manage and evaluate
germplasm plant genetic study attributes important species for make the
breeding of new varieties that meet the needs of the market are easy and
faster.
