On September 3, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), by Office of International Relations International and the College of Integrated Science and Technology, held a meeting with representatives from Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC), New Zealand. Ms. Susan Ye, International Market Manager, Ms. Jaruwan Pongcharuwat, Director of Education New Zealand from the New Zealand Embassy and Ms. Suttiluk Sangsuwan, owner of the New Zealand Education and Tourism Center in Chiang Mai. The meeting took place at the College of Integrated Science and Technology, RMUTL, in Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province. The meeting was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Thitibhorn Phanthachang, Assistant to the President, alongside Assistant Professor Dr.Janyawat Tanchorenrath Wuttichamnong, Deputy Director of the College of Technology and Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as other faculty members and relevant personnel.
The meeting focused on discussing potential avenues for academic collaboration and activities that both institutions could pursue together in the future. Key areas of cooperation included short-term student exchanges and the organization of short-term training programs to enhance English language skills and specific competencies of students in various fields. The representatives also gave a special lecture to over 70 students of the college, covering the pathways to further education in New Zealand and providing guidance on studying at Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC). WINTEC is one of the largest government vocational education institutions in New Zealand, specializing in technology and offering undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and diploma programs. The session attracted significant interest from both students and faculty, especially since there are RMUTL alumni currently studying at WINTEC.
